Refreshing, healthful and nourishing less than 5 mins smoothie made from apple, prickly pear and unsweetened almond milk. Perfect whether for a high-fibre breakfast or a snack.
Serves 2-3, Preparation time 5 mins, No cooking required
- A medium red sweet-crisp apple, washed and with peel on
- 2 medium ripe prickly pears
- 80 ml unsweetened almond milk or soy milk
- 30 ml of tap water
- A pinch of powdered turmeric
- A pinch of powdered cinnamon
Method
Cut the apple into small pieces and throw it into the blender.
Peel the prickly pears with a fork and a knife, as they may have small thorns on their skin. Cut their pulp into small pieces and throw these into the blender as well.
Add the almond milk, tap water and a pinch of turmeric.
Whizz until you get the consistency you prefer.
Pour the mixture into glasses and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
