Bacon gives a nice savouriness to the apples and the apples a nice sweetness to the bacon. Sesame seeds give that extra touch, adding a nice contrast with the rosemary. They are great as a starter.
Serves 4, Preparation 10 mins, Cooking 15 mins
- Apples, 2
- Bacon rashers/strips, to taste
- Sesame seeds, to taste
- Rosemary, 1 sprig
- Black Pepper, a pinch
- EVOO – Extra Virgin Oilve Oil, a drizzle
Method
Toast the sesame seeds for a few minutes in a saucepan without adding oil or other fat.
Set aside.
Rinse, dry and slice the apples, removing the seeds and the leathery part inside, or remove the core first using the special apple remover.
We didn’t peel them, do it if you like.
Dip them in sesame seeds, making them stick to both sides, wrap them in bacon and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper.
Drizzle with a little oil, a pinch of black pepper and add a few sprigs of rosemary. Bake in a fan-oven to 180 c for about 15 minutes.
