Super simple and savoury these puff pastry pinwheels with Gorgonzola and cooked ham.
Gorgonzola cheese then melts into a soft cream, making the whole thing even more appetising and mouth-watering.

Serves 4, Preparation time 15 mins, Cooking time 15 mins

  • 1 roll of store-bought puff pastry
  • Finely Italian Sliced Cooked Ham: 150 g
  • Gorgonzola Dolce cheese: 60 g
  • Parmigiano Reggiano, grated: to taste
  • Egg at room temp: 1
  • A drop of milk
  • Olive Oil, a tablespoon
  • Thyme, dried: to taste
  • Poppy seeds: to taste
  • A pinch of salt

Whisk the egg with a drop of milk in a bowl.

Take the puff pastry straight from the fridge, roll it out and prick it all over with the tines of a fork.
Arrange the Gorgonzola cheese pieces and the ham slices, sprinkle evenly with grated Parmesan cheese, leaving about 1 cm free around the edges.

Roll everything up tightly to form a sausage, cut into rounds of about 2 cm. Brush each pinwheel with a beaten egg or just a drizzle of olive oil, then coat with poppy seeds and/or dried thyme, and add a pinch of salt.
Place the pinwheels on a baking tray lined with baking paper.

Bake 180°C / 350 F / Gas 4, 10 to 15 minutes, allow the pinwheels to cool a little before serving..
