That’s a quick and tasteful dessert and it can also be perfect as a snack.

For this recipe there is not much need for precise quantities, just a bit rough.

However, what we suggest is to adapt it to your taste, so if you have a particularly sweet tooth then you’ll love to add sugar or even honey during the preparation, otherwise you’ll only let butter and cinnamon do the work.

Serves 2, Preparation time 5 mins, Cooking time 5 mins

  • Bramley Apple or Fuji or Golden Delicious variety, 2
  • Lemon juice, 1
  • Cinnamon powder, 1 tablespoon
  • Optional: Sugar or Honey, 1 tablespoon
  • Butter, unsalted: about 20 g
  • Icing sugar, to taste

Method

Peel and cut a couple of apples into chunks not too small and not too thin.

Place the chunks in a bowl and sprinkle them with the juice of lemon and stirring well: this will help to prevent them from blackening.

Melt the unsalted butter in a pan and sautéed apple chunks for about 3 or maybe 4 minutes by adding a sprinkling of cinnamon powder as well. Let them gilded on medium heat, in this way they will be crunchy and not soggy.

Tip: as we said, we didn’t add any sugar or honey because tasting a piece of apple we have realized there was no need of it as they were sweet enough. Thus it depends on your taste buds!

Remove them from the pan, sprinkled just a little bit of icing sugar at the end.

Tip: if you want something naughty to add, vanilla ice-cream is what we feel. More naughtiness? Pair it along with whipped-cream!
