Have some fun in the kitchen preparing these puff pastry and banana treats.
Serves: 4 | Preparation time: 30 mins | Cooking time: 20 – 25 mins
- Ready puff pastry roll: 1
- Banana, firm-texture: 2
- Egg: 1
- Caster sugar: 1 tablespoon
- Dark Chocolate drops: to taste
- Icing sugar: as needed
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C/ 350 F/ Gas 4.
Beat the egg in a bowl and set aside. Cut each banana into 5 or 6 cm pieces.
Roll out the puff pastry sheet and prick it all over with a fork.
This will allow the moisture to escape from the pastry when you bake it, so that it does not swell. Cut the puff pastry into 1 cm wide strips. Wrap a piece of banana in the puff pastry like a mummy’s bandage. Place two chocolate chips on one end of the banana to create eyes.

Brush the puff pastry with egg and sprinkle with caster sugar.
Place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Bake for about 20 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden brown and cooked through.
Once ready, let them cool for a few minutes and then sprinkle them with icing sugar.
